Monday is normally a rest day for me. however, i decided that seeing as though i hadn't run at all over the weekend, i would run home tonight.
I had previously run home once a couple of weeks beforehand and had found it hard in the heat and humidity with no water and a large backpack. So this time i prepared by taking my camelbak into work and leaving my work stuff at work, just taking my wallet, phone and money with me in the camelbak with some water.
Not the most scenic of routes but i went Kent Street - Harbour Bridge - Clark Road - Wycombe Road - Military Road - Spit Road, Parrawi Road - Spit Bridge - Burnt Creek Path - Kenneth Street - Manly Lagoon - home.
Total distance was 16km to the Queenscliff Surf Club. Not too bad for a long run and nice to stretch the legs out over a longer distance for a change.
Timings were as follows:
Clean up Office - 6.09
Kirribilli end of bridge - 9.54
Top of Wycombe - 28.45
Spit Bridge - 53.04
Ethel Street - 59.53
BLR - 1.10.59
Queenscliff surf club - 1.23.01
Total distance: 16km, average pace 5.11/km.
Overall, the camelbak workred well and i was happy with the time. At least it gives me something to aim for next time.
