Picked up Roly early doors, parked up and was in the water just after 6.20am for the first attempt at a double lap.
Paddled out to the point and then headed straight for Shelly - Roly pulling ahead and finishing a long way in front.
Seeing the normal early lappers half way to Shelly, we quickly turned around and headed back to the point and into Manly.
From there we waited for the normal hordes before retracing our steps to the point again before doing it all over again.
Felt strong throughout, although the last leg was definitely harder work. Saw lots of fish and rays on the first leg, less so on the second by which time the swell had got up a bit.
All in all probably the longest swim I have ever done - between 2.8-3km depending on who you believe. The splits were a little slower, although still not bad.
Point - Shelly (1): 10.57
Shelly - Manly (1): 15.36
Point - Shelly (2): 10.35
Shelly - Manly (2): 15.32
