With Andrew, Mike H and Mark all (literally) last minute withdrawals due to some drizzle in Mosman, it was just Roly, Tim and I who ventured up the beaches.
I decided on the road bike with the rain in the air.
All went well (and dry) until we turned for West Head when it started to rain. And then it started to pour. After about 5 minutes of driving rain, we decided to turn around and head back the way we had come, back down Pittwater Road, arriving back in Manly before 9am.
With the sun now out, and the boys deciding to call it a day, I made a quick change in the garage and headed out on foot, keen to get some time on the feet off the bike.
Ran along Queenscliff Road, back through the lagoon and along the beachfront to Shelley and back for just over 7km. Started off fairly slowly but quickly got into a good pace, managing to average 4.35's over the 7km.
All up 64km on the bike in 2.25 and 7km on the feet in 33.09 for 71km in just under 3 hours all up. Perfect per-Christmas fare!
