Track

Track hadn't really been on my radar so far this season - mainly due to other commitments, training schedules and the like. However, with Nepean on the horizon we decided some short, sharp stuff was probably just what we needed and so Tim, Roly and I headed out on our bikes for our first session of the season.

After the customary warm ups, the session was split into 4 x 1km progressive intervals done outside the track followed by some broken 1km intervals done inside the track with the aim being to keep the pace for the broken kms at the same as the quickest 1km...if that makes sense.

With that in mind we plumped for the second group, rattling off the first 4km's at a progressive pace of 4.25/4.16/3.58/3.55. Pretty much spot on.

We then moved into the track where the broken km's consisted of 1 x laps with a 60 second recovery. We ended up doing 6 of these done at 3.31/3.20/3.33/3.37/3.23/3.39 pace. Again, pretty much where we wanted to be.

This was all topped off by a 1km TT - done at 3.52 pace. Perfect.

Then a ride home! Big but good session.
