Met up with Tim early for our first brick session since Wollongong in March.
Decided on a relatively easy 50/10 split to break us both in after so long away from the bike.
Headed up the beaches into the teeth of what felt like a gale force wind, making it to the Church Point turn off in 36.30 and to the West Head turn off in 61 minutes. From there we retraced our steps back down the beaches, reaching Manly in just under 2 hours for 52km on the bike all up. A tough start to the day due to the head wind which seemed to have died down by the time we rode back into Manly!
After a slowish transition, we headed out onto the run quickly realising that due to time pressures we probably wouldn't manage the full 10km. With that in mind we headed along Queenscliff Road before looping back through the lagoon and out along the beachfront to Shelley, before retracing our steps to Queenscliff where we called it a day with 8km on the Garmin.
All up 2 hours on the bike and 37.45 for the run (average 4.42's). Not a bad start!
